Diane Diagnoses and Treats Most Mental Disorders/Conditions.
On a family vacation as a child, Diane visited a younger cousin who was living in a Youth Home due to his mother being a drug addict and alcoholic. Seeing that other children did not have loving parents and homes to grow up in as herself, this made an instant and huge impact on her heart. She knew from that moment on that she wanted to work in facilities just like the one she visited so that she could help others feel cared for.
Diane Gammon
She pursued this dream and worked in multiple youth homes starting out as a house parent when she was only 19 years old. She later realized that she could help even more people if she went to college to be a counselor. She knew that she wanted to continue to work with children who had been neglected or abused, were in the foster system, and who desperately needed someone to help show and teach them that they had value.
Diane then also began to have a heart for others who had a rough life in other ways. She desired to treat clients in jails and prisons. So when she started college, she first majored in Corrections and Substance Abuse Counseling. She also has a heart for individuals who are on the Autism Spectrum.
Diane has a deeply caring heart for others and is passionate about helping individuals develop a positive sense of self-worth, even in the face of extreme difficult or life-altering circumstances. She is also a thriving survivor of Complex Trauma (C-PTSD) and Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) stemming from various traumas. Having experienced healing for decades, she draws on her journey to bring added depth, understanding, and warmth to her counseling work.
Diane is very enthusiastic about ´Self-Care and wellness with living a healthy lifestyle. When applicable, she shares education as a Wellness Coach about natural and integrative approaches to help alleviate and mange stress, anxiety, and depression. Some of these are to eat healthy, exercise, get natural vitamin D from the sun, meditate, and practice yoga. Diane mainly follows an organic plant-based diet with juicing and blending fruits and vegetables daily. She shares her passion and encourages optimum health by writing a Health Blog. She also encourages self-care strategies along with her brother Dr. Dan Davidson who is a Chiropractor, at SelfCareSmart.com.
Diane is a Christian and integrates Biblical Counsel only upon request as not to push her personal beliefs onto her clients. When she is not working, Diane is passionate about spending time with her family and church family, live music, ballroom dancing, martial arts and volunteering. She obtained her yellow belt in KRAV MAGA after having a fatal muscle and skin autoimmune disease (in which she treated naturally)! Her favorite organizations to volunteer are Miracle League Baseball for special needs children and adults and Prison Ministry. She mentors and brings ‘Hope’ to incarcerated inmates every week. She is working with her brother, Dr. Dan Davidson on writing health books and creating podcasts and social media content to inspire others. Her greatest joys are to encourage ‘Hope In Healing’ to others and being a mother and grandmother. She is a “Granny” to 10…. and counting!
