When You Are At The End Of Your Rope - It is The Beginning of.....
Do you feel like you are at the end of your rope?

Are you feeling like you do not have any fight left in you?

Believe it or not, feeling hopeless can be a good place to be!

When we get as low as we think we can go-- the only way to go is up!!

So if you are feeling low is spirits and you are losing hope, hang on!

If you are down, get on your knees and reach out to God and pray. Tell Him how you feel and tell Him what your needs are. Pour your heart out to Him. You are never alone. He is a prayer away. Reach out to Him and pray. He loves you and He wants you to have peace in your life.

Most people who have gotten to a very low point in their life have later experienced the most joy imaginable!

Use this time to grow closer to God and to make positive changes in your life.

Reach out to God and others who can help you. You are not alone and there is always hope for a better tomorrow.

Positive Self-Worth- Where To Get It!
Do you get your self- worth and how you feel about yourself by how others see you?

Do you start to feel bad about yourself when other people have a low opinion of you?

Do you base your self-esteem on if you feel rejected by others?

Your self- worth and self- esteem needs to come from YOU and how YOU see yourself, from how others see you.

What matters is how you see yourself and how God sees you. God loves you and he wants you to know this and to love yourself.

Other people cannot meet your needs that only YOU and God can fulfill!

Learn to love and accept yourself- and if there is something that you do not like about yourself, work on making positive changes....but start loving yourself and valuing who you are!

Be true to yourself and who you are- on what makes YOU- YOU! And.... be proud of who you are.

Do not base your self- worth on the opinions of others!

Finding Contentment In Being Alone - Learn To Enjoy Time With Yourself
While it is important to have a supportive and social network, it is necessary to first find contentment within yourself.

It is then and only then that you can then be in an emotionally healthy place to be in a functional and close relationship with someone.

You have to love yourself first before you can love others.

You have to respect yourself first before you can demonstrate genuine respect for others.

Thus, you have to  learn how to enjoy your own company and be content with time spent alone.

Being alone and/ or being single is not an illness or or a disease.

No matter your personal situation, learn to embrace time with yourself.

Revisit your passions, dreams, goals, and interests and start living today with learning how YOU can be content in your own company!

However- if you feel that you are in a crisis with your moods/ depression, etc.- seek help right away!

Seeking Support From Others- The Benefits
I have personally been through a lot of difficult times in my life. The thing that stands out to be the main reason that I was able to get through these difficult times was because of supportive people in my life. These people were placed in my path as I went through my trials and they offered more support, help, and encouragement than I could have ever imagined.

It makes it a lot easier to go through adversity when you have some type of a support system.

A support person or persons can offer:

A safe environment for personal reflection and sharing

A place to process personal concerns and worries

Helpful insight to your questions

Give a realistic assessment of your goals

Could provide you with a healthy self-doubt view by presenting other possibilities to your concern

The sense of enjoyment in working with a group of people who value what you do

Encourage you to persevere in adversity

Remind you of your goals

Help motivate you when you are losing hope

Identify your thoughts and feelings

Allow you to socialize and meet people

Provide opportunities to direct one’s concerns outside of one’s self

Give suggestions that you may have overlooked

If you do not have close friends or family to lean on for support, you can still seek support. Call a pastor. Call a counselor. Seek a free support group.

You are only alone if you choose to be. There is support and help. Seek it when needed.

Take action and take the first step.

REACH FOR HELP!!

Also, when you can offer support to someone else in any way, do so. It will mean more to them than you can ever know.

Don't Just Exist, Live BIG!
Live Big! What does this mean to you?

For me- it means to live with passion and purpose.

Ask yourself what it means to you.

How can YOU go from just surviving and existing to LIVING BIG?

Make a list of things that you would like to do this year to LIVE BIG!

Here are some ideas:

              Get out in nature more

Take short trips- don't think it has to be long vacations or nothing

Plan a "staycation" for yourself and enjoy being home and then explore the town that you live in

        Buy yourself fresh flowers

Connect with friends and/ or family

Learn new things and new skills

Pursue a new hobby or interest

Make a vision board of your dreams and goals and hang it where you can see it daily

Learn a musical instrument

                                         Dance

Relax more and don't sweat the small stuff

                      Volunteer

Make an effort to make a new friend

                                   Ride a bike

Try a new food every so often

Take a new route when driving to work

                       Sing out loud

          Have an attitude of gratitude

Identify your purpose and be true to yourself -- and Live on PURPOSE!

Tips Toward Changing Unhealthy Behaviors!
A lot of people use the beginning of a new year as a time to work on changing unhealthy habits into healthy ones.

Here are some helpful tips:

First of all- get outside and get fresh air and sunshine a few minutes a day......preferably moving your body! This will help you feel better mentally and physically!

Think physical activity rather than exercise!

There are many benefits of movement....  including a healthy heart and brain.

Make a list of behaviors/ things/ situations, etc. that you would like to change in your life... and why.

Then make a list of ways that you can make these positive changes.

Then break down the list into tiny steps toward what you would like to do/ change.

TAKE ACTION AND DO STEP ONE!

Reward yourself with something little for doing the first step. Make the reward appropriate.

(You do not want to reward yourself with any unhealthy reward).

Example- if your are trying to getting more fit and / or eat healthier- do not reward yourself with junk food!

Happy Healthy Habits!

Finding Hope In The Darkness
I know that many of you feel hopeless at times. But there is always, always, always some thing to be thankful for in the midst of pain and suffering.

There is always hope.... in that you have a spirit in you that can climb mountains if you allow yourself to go there in your mind!

Remember the storybook of the engine that could? "I think I can, I think I can, I think I can".

If you choose to believe.... you are half way there!

Emotional pain is temporary.

You do not know what is around the bend.

The sun shines brightest after the storm.

When you are down in spirits and feel like there is no relief in sight- HOLD ON! Take a deep breath. Then take another one.

Visualize a peaceful place in your mind and focus on that as you speak positive words to yourself.

Tell yourself that you are Okay and that you will continue to be okay.

Talk to yourself positively.

What you tell yourself will dictate how you feel and then it will dictate your actions.

So choose to think positively and choose to have hope that tomorrow will and can be better.

Do what you can and then do not stress over what is not in your control.

Become - Who You Already Are
Become who you are! I love this quote. How many of us really live with being "ourselves"?

Are you living your life with purpose and pursuing your passions?

Are you being true to yourself?

Are you being and doing what makes you- you?

Start Becoming Who You Are!

What You Focus On - Increases
What you focus on and spend your mental and physical energy on - is what you are going to get!

Are you spending your time worrying?

Are you spending your time feeling sorry for yourself?

Are you focused on staying in the past and being concerned over things that you do not have any control over?

OR..... are you focusing on healing from emotional wounds, forgiving, thinking of what you DO have control over, pursuing your passions, loving and living?

The choice is yours! Choose Wisely!
