Reflecting Back.......... And Looking Forward
My mother passed away 24 years ago today.

She was my best friend and my favorite person in life.

My favorite holiday was HER birthday because I loved to show her how much I loved and appreciated her.

She died from pancreas cancer. She died in my arms in my home as she and I and my brother were all singing together. We were singing "Do LORD"- which one of the lines is... I took Jesus as my Savior- you take Him too.

My mother told me that she would always be in my heart.

My mother taught me to be true to myself and not to be concerned of what others thought of how I should live my life. She taught me not to live by other's approvals but to be my true self in life.

I am thankful for what she taught me and I have lived this way with hearing her sweet angelic voice in my head.

I want to encourage you all to live the same. Live how you believe that you should instead of worrying about getting approval from others. BE YOUrself!

My mom saw good in everyone. She also taught me to do the same. Just because someone has made mistakes in their lives does not mean that they are not worthy of forgiveness and grace.

We all make mistakes and we are all a work in progress.

Hurting people hurt people.

Instead of getting upset over someone's words and/ or actions, try understanding what they may be going through.

I will continue to hold on to what my mom taught me and to treasure my memories of her.

Sometimes when I live my life, I think that I am also living for her- making the most of life in her memory.

So I will continue to live life to the fullest with being true to myself and answering to myself and to God.

Join me in living the same!

I grew up with believing that I could do anything in life. Even if you did not grow up like this- you can still live the same as I am. Choose not to be a victim, but to live life victoriously!

Are You Too Busy? What Is It Robbing You Of?
Are you so busy that you feel overwhelmed?

Do you have anxiety because you feel like you have too much on you?

When you have too much on yourself, you cannot give your best.

Are there things in your life that you can give up that are not productive but that you are having a difficult time letting go?

Examples could be- staying up took late to watch Netflix, Being on Facebook too much, Wasting time worrying about things in which you have no control of, And- taking on too much to perhaps avoid dealing with issues in your life that you are avoiding.

Is it robbing you of peace? Sleep?

What decisions in your life are preventing you from inner peace and/ or preventing you from getting adequate rest?

What can you change?

What are you willing to change?

What are you refusing to change and why?

Your Thoughts- Let God Renew Them
Ephesians 4:23 says, “Let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes” (NLT).

You’re not going to change your feelings and actions until your thoughts and attitude change.

This is why a daily quiet time is important.

The time you spend intentionally studying God’s Word and in prayer is the spiritual renewal in your mind.

Recover Hope- Written By One Of My Clients
Hope... it's one of the hardest things to gain but the easiest thing to lose. It took me years to find even a little sense of hope, but as time went on I gained a little more each time.

It's a process to find hope, but losing it is a whole lot easier. One little thing could happen and it sends you about 10,000 steps back and BAM! your ready to end your life. It happens fast and you really don't really see it coming most of the time.

Today is one of those days... I've lost my hope and my world seems to be getting darker and darker by the second. Rationally, I don't want to end my life but it would be easier, but sometimes the easiest thing to do isn't the right thing to do. Which sucks, but it's true.

Most of the time you gotta fight like hell to get where you want and that's the hard part. We are human, we want all things to come easy but sadly they don't.

For years, I've always chosen the easy way and now doing harder things is uncomfortable and brings a lot of fear, but your largest fears carry your greatest growth and right now, I've got to hold onto even that tiny bit of hope that's somewhere inside screaming to be released.

I just have to do something different and lean into that fear to find it.

Life After Tragedy- My Personal Story of Loss and Healing
Today marks the 22nd anniversary of when one of my daughters was born and died an hour and a half later. She was born too soon.

My appendix had ruptured several days prior and I had so much gangrene in my body, my baby didn't have a fighting chance.

Cammie Rose remains in my heart and spirit as much as she did decades ago.

I attended a support group for a year after I lost Cammie. It was the only place that I could talk about her and my feelings and be understood.

I also suffered 5 miscarriages.

A couple years prior to losing Cammie Rose in April, I lost my mother to pancreas cancer. I was in my late 20's.

I took care of my mother 24/ 7 the last month of her life and she died in my arms. After losing my mom- I sought another support group.

I am healed of these losses and I have a passion to offer support groups as a mental health counselor.

I enjoy using my experiences and passions to help others attain hope and healing.

I offer free monthly support groups for Grief and Loss (Including Miscarriage and Infant Loss) every 3rd Tuesday evening.

While these are FREE, registration is required before each meeting.

Please Join me for a free support group for Grief and Loss this month on the 18th.
