Don't Wait Until Things Are Perfect To Enjoy Life!
Things will never be perfect.

But yet, we often tell ourselves that something has to change before we can enjoy our life.

The thing that has to change is our attitudes!

If we wait for perfect conditions to decide to take charge in our lives, we will be waiting forever.

Choose to enjoy your life today with your current situations and do your best toward making positive changes..........while still counting your blessings and deciding to seize the day!

In God's Timing- Not Ours
We want things now- our way.

We live in a microwave/ fast paced world.

We want immediate gratification.

It can be difficult to be patient.............. but if we wait on God, it will be worth it.

What God has in store for our lives is much more than we can do for ourselves.

Do all you can and then wait on God's timing for his part.

Isaiah 41:10 fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

What Are You Feeding Your Mind? Those Thoughts Will Grow
What you focus on will grow.

What you think of and over think will get bigger in your mind.

These feelings will greatly influence how you feel and then it will influence your actions.

Thus, your thoughts influence your behaviors.

What thoughts are you focusing on today?

Co-Dependency- Learn The Facts
Repeating this post because it is such an important one-

Co-dependency is a learned behavior that often can be passed down from one generation to another.

It is an emotional and behavioral condition that affects a person’s ability to have a healthy and mutually satisfying relationship.

Co-dependency was first described and termed regarding people being in chemical dependency patterns and those who aided their addictions.

Today it is observed in individuals who are in relationships with chronically or mentally ill individuals as well as any co-dependent person from any type of a dysfunctional relationship.

Individuals who are co-dependent have low self-esteem and tend to look for anything outside of themselves to make them feel better. They progressively develop a sense of reward and satisfaction from “being needed.”

When the caretaking becomes compulsive of the Co-dependent person, they can feel as if they have no other choice but to help and they are unable to break away from the cycle of dysfunctional behavior.

Individuals who are Co-dependents look at themselves as the victims and are attracted to that same type of weakness and dysfunction in love and friendship relationships.

Some Characteristics of Co-dependent People Are:

They have an exaggerated sense of responsibility for the actions of others.

The can confuse love and pity, with the tendency to “love” people they can pity and rescue.

They feel hurt when people don’t recognize their efforts.

They have an unhealthy dependence on relationships.

The co-dependent will do just about anything to hold on to a relationship so that they avoid feeling abandoned.

They have an extreme need for approval and recognition.

They do not trust other people.

They have problems identifying their feelings.

They have problems with change, intimacy, and boundaries.

They have anger issues and are often dishonest and indecisive.

If you or someone that you know demonstrates co-dependent behaviors, there is help. Counseling can help.

Choosing a JOY FILLED Attitude....My Birthday Celebration Thoughts
I turn 54 yesterday... just a couple days after my 4th granddaughter was born.

Two granddaughters helped me blow out my candles and two fit in my arms.

I know that not everyone has the privilege of having children and grandchildren. For those who desired this and it has not happened, I am so sorry.

It is good to have dreams and goals. And, I believe that God wants us to have the desires of our hearts.

However, sometimes our dreams and desires do not happen the way that we had hoped and planned.

When this happens, we then have to tweak  our dreams and goals. We should not give up on them but rather, we should alter them a bit.

I also believe that when we live a righteous life in Christ that He will give us far more blessings in our lives then we could have ever imagined.

They may just come in a different package then we imagined or in a different way. Most always, it will also come in a different timing than our own.

I have spent many years alone after planning and desiring to be married. My original plans did not work out but my life is still JOY FILLED.

I have experienced multiple traumas in my life but in the midst of my turmoil and experiencing abuse, I rededicated  my life to Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, got baptized and began to have a personal relationship with Him. Along with Christian counseling, He helped me heal from my pain and suffering and He can for you too.

The Bible says to consider it pure joy to have difficult times in our lives.

If you are going through a difficult time, use it to grow stronger with your faith and in other ways.

Do the best that you can with what you have with where you are. Give the rest to God and let it go.

Choose to have a joy filled attitude and remember that there is always hope and there is always something to be thankful for.

Look on the positive and sunny side of life!

Today, I rejoice an another healthy granddaughter and that next year, we will have a shared birthday part!

Reflections From a Now... Grandmother of 4! An Attitude of Gratitude!
I met my 4th granddaughter today.

She was born in the middle of the night a couple nights ago.

My heart is so full of love and gratitude of God's blessings.

God is so good all of the time! I feel blessed beyond measure.

This blessing is why I had to cancel the support group this week.

Blessings from God are plentiful. Sometimes they are not as clear to see such as a new healthy, beautiful baby- but there are blessings from Him daily.

Having an attitude of gratitude even during difficult times can help you through the day.

I want to encourage you to look for and try and notice blessings in your life.

There is always, always something to be thankful for!

Today, I am thankful to meet this precious gift from God. My cup runneth over.
