Psychological Aspects Of Physical Pain
The most significant aspect of physical pain is how it impacts our daily living.

Many people who seek medical attention are told that their pain is in their mind. This can be very frustrating. These individuals then fear that they will not be validated with their pain.

An individual's cognition can influence and interact with their emotions as well as their behaviors.

An increased attention to a person's physical pain can in fact make their pain worse.

Low self-efficacy beliefs are associated with higher chronic pain-related disabilities and depression.

Personalities, moods, previous experiences, and secondary gains all influence a person's physical level of pain.

You Are Precious To God
"Be careful not to attach your sense of worth to your performance. When you’re dissatisfied with something you have said or done, talk with Me about it.

Ask Me to help you sort out what is truly sinful and what is not. Confess any sins you’re aware of, and receive My forgiveness gratefully. Then live in the freedom of being My beloved believer.

Don’t let your mistakes and sins diminish your sense of worth. Remember that you have been declared 'Not Guilty' forever! There is no condemnation for those who are in Me—who belong to Me.

You are precious to Me, and I take delight in you, so refuse to condemn yourself." ~Jesus Always by Sarah Young

"There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." ~Romans 8:1 ESV

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) As a Treatment for Depression
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is used to help individuals suffering from anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

It has also found extensive use in anger management therapy, especially in identifying healthy anger from destructive anger.

It is also widely used to resolve depression- based on the theory that patterns of thoughts that govern mood, and that negative thoughts about oneself, one’s ability to function in society, and even one’s appearance............... can trigger massive depressive episodes.

What is CBT?
Cognitive behavior therapy is a common type of talk therapy, or psychotherapy, and one of the few forms of psychotherapy that has been scientifically tested and found to be effective – in hundreds of clinical trials.

An example---------To illustrate, individuals viewing an episode of a cooking show on television will have several different reactions, but the two most relevant will be, “I can do that!” based on high self-image, and, “I could never do that, I’m not smart enough.” based on low self-image and major depression.

These spontaneous reactions are known as “automatic thoughts”, and thus determine self-image and behavior, sometimes to a greater extent than the real world.

How CBT  Works:
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) focuses on the role of thoughts in behavior and mood.

This “inductive” therapy allows the client (under the supervision and with the help of a therapist) to access a reservoir of negative or nonproductive thoughts or beliefs, and from that to derive more effective patterns of behavior.

CBT teaches individuals how to separate the problem from their reaction to the problem.

CBT and Depression:
CBT can be very helpful in treating depression.

In fact, given the self-destructive nature of clinical depression, it is an excellent tool to begin shaping the situation in the patient’s eyes.

As a standalone therapy, CBT has been proven in randomized controlled trials to be more effective in generating remission in depressive patients than either pharmaceuticals or nonspecific psychotherapy. (According to research conducted by the Veteran’s Administration/Department of Defense, “Clinical Practice Guideline for Management of Depressive Disorder” (2009), CBT is “an empirically-validated psychotherapy that is recommended as a first-line treatment for depression".)

Feeling Overwhelmed? Tips That Can Help
I often hear that individuals are overwhelmed.

Is this you?

It is easy to feel overwhelmed today in our society. Adults are overwhelmed. Teens are overwhelmed. Children are even overwhelmed.

Life is overwhelming.

Some things we are just not able to have any control over.

However, we can have control over some things that we feel overwhelmed about.

It is helpful to write down the reasons that you feel overwhelmed. List them on paper.
Then look at your list and separate them with what you do and do not have any control over.

Look at what you do have some control over. Ask yourself what you can do to make a change?

Prioritize what you feel that you need to get done. Then ask yourself what you can do different to help ease your stress in your life.

You have to change something to see a change!

What can you take off of you?

What/ who can you draw a boundary line with?

What can you do to help you to relax?

Do you feel like you may be close-minded about things, about change?

Try having a teachable heart and mind. Be open to trying things in a new way. Be open to making positive changes in your life.

Be open to healing!

Increase your self-care and self-love by making positive changes in your life today!

Why Ezekiel Bread is Healthy!
What is Ezekiel Bread?

Ezekiel bread is different for several reasons.

Whereas most breads contain added sugar, Ezekiel bread contains none.

It is also made from organic, sprouted whole grains. The sprouting process changes the nutrient composition of the grains significantly.

Ezekiel bread contains several different types of grains and legumes:
  • 4 types of cereal grains: Wheat, Millet, Barley and Spelt.
  • 2 types of legumes: Soybeans and Lentils.
All the grains and all the legumes are organically grown and sprouts before they are processed, mixed together and baked to produce the final product.

 How Sprouting Increases Nutrients
Due to the sprouting process, Ezekiel bread may contain more of some vital nutrients. Some studies show that sprouting grains increases their content of the amino acid lysine .

Lysine is the limiting amino acid in many plants. The sprouting increases the efficiency that the proteins in the grain can be used for in structural and functional purposes in the human body.

Also, combining the grains (wheat, millet, barley and spelt) with the legumes (soybeans and lentils) may increase the protein quality somewhat.

Studies also show that sprouting wheat may lead to significant increases in soluble fiber, folate, Vitamin C, Vitamin E and Beta-Carotene.

Sprouting also partially breaks down the starch, because the seed uses the energy in the starch to fuel the sprouting process. For this reason, sprouted grains have slightly less carbohydrate.

Thus, because of the sprouting of the seeds, Ezekiel bread should definitely be more nutritious than most other types of bread.

If you’re not gluten sensitive, Ezekiel bread can be a healthier choice.

It is certainly a whole lot better than 99% of the breads on store shelves which are mostly made from refined wheat and usually contain lots of sugar.

Anxiety Causes- Help and Hope

Anxiety usually occurs because the brain is unable to properly produce and regulate two important neurotransmitters that are called GABA and Serotonin.

Basically, our stress hormone levels become elevated and the brain is unable to produce the proper amounts of GABA and Serotonin which tell the brain to “SLOW DOWN”.

This can be caused by poor diet, genetics, excess stress, or a number of other hard to identify causes.

Unfortunately, anxiety gets worse over time as these chemicals become depleted further.
