Anger Is Not Bad, It is How You Deal With Anger
Anger in itself is not a bad or negative thing.

It is a way that our mind and body recognizes that something inside of us does not feel right.

Try and look at anger as a signal that something seems off. Then, allow yourself to be angry and upset. ***Just let these emotions and feelings out appropriately.

Examples are- going for brisk walk, taking a run, stepping outside to clear your mind, putting yourself in a time out, counting to 30, taking slow deep breaths, etc.

Next, allow yourself some time to cool down from being angry.

Then- try to calmly think of ways that you can deal with the situation in which you are angry.

-  It is always a good idea to refrain from reacting to others or a situation when you are angry. There is nothing productive about trying to have a heated discussion with someone when you are angry.

Again- allow yourself to feel what you feel and then allow yourself a cooling down period - before responding.

Get Out of Your Own Way
Get Out of Your Own Way!

We are often the reason why we are not healing or progressing in life.

Self-doubt and fear kill more dreams and prevent healing than anything else.

It is helpful to acknowledge what you feel and let it out appropriately.

Then, it is helpful to envision your life as a healed, whole person living the life that you yearn for.

Then lastly, it is important to make a list of all the ways that you may be interfering with what is keeping you from progressing forward.

Thus, identify these aspects and then ask yourself what you can do different so you may heal and/ or pursue your passions and goals.

Negative self-talk, doubt and fear can keep us from living our lives to the fullest.

Seek help today on how you can learn to get out of your own way!

There is always hope!

The Different Faces Of Self-Care
Self-care is different for everyone.

Now, there are basic self-care behaviors that are universal.

We of course all need water, food, rest and shelter, etc.

Beyond eating healthy, getting plenty of rest and taking care of personal hygiene, along with exercise and fresh air, self care is individualized.

Self-care can be reading a book, drawing a picture, watching a show, engaging in a new hobby, spending time with close friends or family, going to church, reading your Bible, praying, treating yourself in someway and/or just enjoying your own company with a warm cup of tea!

What do you enjoy doing to recharge?

Make your own list of self-care ideas that you can demonstrate!

Understanding Triggers From Trauma
Understanding Triggers From Trauma

If you have experienced some type of trauma and then have been negatively affected by it later in some way, you may have experienced a trigger.

A trigger is when someone remembers something about a negative experience or trauma that they have experienced and it bothers them.

The emotional pain associated can be small or huge.

Many times, the emotional pain from a trigger can cause anxiety and fear. When something bothers you from a previous trauma months later, it can be Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

This is a normal response to remembering something about a trauma.

However, you do not have to live with this type f pain and anxiety. You can learn how to heal from your trauma and how to better handle triggers.

If you are experiencing triggers that are bothersome, I want to encourage you to seek professional help.

Have hope and learn how to heal!

Healing Can Be Frightening, Our Pain Gets Comfortable
Healing can be frightening.

The trauma and pain that we experience becomes our identity and then it becomes where we feel the most comfortable.

Thus, when we begin to start thinking about working on healing, it is not our 'norm' and it is then out of our comfort zone.

............If this is you, I want to encourage you to seek professional help and learn to heal and make a new identity for yourself past your trauma!

Healing is........
Healing is..............

Mainly, healing is about changing your relationship with yourself. It is about self love and self care.

It is also about leaning what you can and cannot change.

Further, healing is about allowing yourself to feel what you feel and to learn how to express those feelings in healthy ways.

Then, healing is identifying the roots of pain and rewiring thought processes associated with this pain.

What Are You Focusing On?
What we focus on will get bigger.

We will spend more time on it and we will spend mental energy on it.

While it is good to allow yourself to feel and express all of your emotions, you can choose to not allow them to take you down.

You can choose to not let negative thoughts have power over you.

You can choose to acknowledge all of your feeling and emotions and then------------ focus on talking to yourself positively.

Tell yourself that you are okay over and over- even if you do not feel okay.

What you focus on with your thoughts will influence your feelings and your actions!

Think positive and think HEALING and HEALTH!
