There is NO Elevator For Success- You Have To Take The Stairs!
There Is No Elevator For Success- You Have To Take The Stairs!

I love this quote. You have to work at success!

You will not get there by simply standing still and waiting till a door opens for you.

Go toward that door yourself.

Do not wait for it to open.

Be a mover and shaker and walk- run- crawl - or roll toward your goal................. just keep moving in the right direction!

Keep on going - take action- and do not give up!

You are Worthy! Yes, YOU!
A lot of my clients share with me that they do not feel worthy of a new beginning in life.

They have made terrible mistakes.

They have mistreated others.

They have too much shame and guilt from their past.

Some have been abused and somehow blame themselves.

No matter what it is that you have been through- YOU CAN GET PAST IT AND YOU ARE WORTHY!

You need to change your thinking and let go of the idea of unworthiness.

Replace it with telling yourself that you ARE worthy and valuable.

Furthermore, God can take any and everything that you have been through and use it for His Glory and For Good In YOUR Life!

Let your test turn into a testimony!

Turn being a victim into VICTORY!

The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him. Psalm 28:7

Give the Lord your pain and suffering in prayer and get into counseling and................... start living life again!

YOU ARE WORTHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
God LOVES YOU!

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!  2 Corinthians 5:17

Happiness is a Choice and a Journey
Happiness is.................  a choice............not a response.

No One Can Make You Happy! You have to make yourself happy. You also need to be happy with yourself first before you can be in a healthy relationship.

Happiness is a journey..........not a destination.

Happiness is finding joy and contentment among adversity.

Happiness is choosing to see the positive side of life.

Happiness is not dwelling on the negative or things that you cannot control.

Happiness is having a person in your life that accepts you for who you are.

Happiness is self-respect and self-love.

Happiness is.......the little things in life that bring you joy.

Happiness is not having to set an alarm for the next day.

Happiness is choosing to heal and not remaining a victim.

Happiness is feeling that you are blessed.

Free Support Groups For Grief And Loss- Including Miscarriage And Infant Loss

Miscarriage, Infant death, Stillbirth........are devastating. People often do not know what to say to women and families who have suffered such a loss.

Because of this, it is often difficult to obtain support with these types of losses.

Along with being a Clinical Mental Health Counselor, I have personally suffered 5 miscarriages and also had an infant daughter die a couple hours after her birth.

I know your pain. I would like to help you in your journey of healing.

There is a support group that I offer every month for grief and loss on every 3rd Tuesday evening at my office in Murfreesboro. The next group for grief and loss is Oct. 18th at 7pm.

The Three Types Of Stress, Their Consequences And Treatment
There are three types of stress.

1. Stimulus-based......The first type of stress is when a person is under a lot of pressure with life events. This type of stress can lead to physical illness.

The best treatment for this type of stress is to learn how to take things out of your life that is too much and to find a healthy balance.

2. Response -based......The second type of stress is physical and psychological in which a person feels completely stressed out. This type of stress can lead to anxiety, poor concentration, fatigue, and bodily tension.
This type of stress is also referred to as general adaptation syndrome.

The best treatment for this type of stress is relaxation exercises, biofeedback, yoga and meditation/ mindfulness.

3. Interactional.....The third type of stress is when you believe that you just can no longer cope and you think that you do not have the ability to deal with things. This type of stress can lead to a multitude of symptoms that are physical and emotional.

The best treatment for this type of stress is Cognitive Behavioral Modification and Stress Inoculation Training.

Of course counseling can help you manage any type of stress!

Learn how to effectively deal with stress before it overtakes your life with anxiety and / or illness.

Do You Feel Like You Need To Get Revenge?
Revenge-  have you ever felt like you wanted someone to hurt like you have?

Do you sometimes wish revenge on someone?

Do you feel the desire to get even or to try to punish someone because you hurt?

It is normal to feel like this sometimes.

However, you do not have to act on such feelings.

Feeling like you want to get revenge on someone is a part of anger.

It is okay to feel anger- it is what you do with anger that is important.

It is not our job to judge others and seeking revenge is is not helpful for anyone. Seeking revenge will actually hold you back in life.

If you feel like getting revenge on someone who hurt you------- take a deep breath and walk away from them.

Look at any lesson that can be learned from the situation and other than that- let it go.

Accept what you have to of what you do not have control of and forgive what you need to forgive.

You do need to get your hurt feelings out - but do this appropriately. Talk to a trusted friend or a counselor. Journal. But do not act out of anger. There is nothing good that can come out of that.

You are NOT WEAK if you do not get revenge on someone. You are in fact the STRONG ONE!

And this will set you free......................

How to Experience Peace
Our first reaction to conflict and fear is usually anxiety.

We rationalize that if we care about our problems and conflicts that we need to worry about them when this is not true.

Actually our best problem solving tactic can be to have inner peace. We are able to think more clearly when we have peace. This then allows us to be rational in what we need to do in conflict. This then allows us and to have further peace.

If we choose to worry and have anxiety then we are giving those power over us.

Choose instead to deep breath, demonstrate positive self-talk and to have peace.

Let go of what you do not have control of and take the first tiny step toward what is in your power to do.

Take a walk outside, call a friend, reach out to a Pastor, join a group for support, seek counseling, pray, watch a sunset, think positive thoughts, dream of a peaceful and safe place, relax, and..... choose to experience peace- with doing what you can with what you have with where you are right now- and let the rest go.

Regarding others and battles, choose them wisely. Sometimes it is necessary and smart to choose peace instead of being right.

Also, remember that you are always in control of how to your respond to others.

You can experience peace when you choose not to let another person or an event control you and your emotions.

Choose peace.
