It's Never Too Late to Have a Happy Childhood!
Are there parts of your childhood that are not happy memories?

You can re-write and re-live parts of your childhood over again! It does not matter how young or old that you are.

What would you like to experience but didn't get to?

What would you change if you could? What parts can you re-live and experience? Go for it! Age does not matter. Chase a dream. Pursue a passion. Do something that you have always wanted to do......

Visit a zoo

Finger paint

Splash in mud puddles

Get that hair style you always wanted to try

Swing on a swing set

Watch an old TV show

But a metal lunch box

Forgive

Reach out to loved ones

Let go of regret

Sing in the rain

Build a snowman

Pick flowers

Listen to old music

Play ball with neighbors

...............What other ideas can you think of that you would like to do?

Have fun! Be creative!

 Have Hope! Renew Health! and...........

There is ALWAYS HOPE and HEALING!
Do Not Give Up!

Don't Settle For Normal and Comfortable- Stretch Yourself
It is easy and comfortable to follow the crowd, to try and be "normal" and to do and be what is expected.

Staying in dysfunction and in emotional pain can even be comfortable....but do not stay there because of that. Choose healing and choose to life life to the fullest!

Stretch Yourself and Follow Your Passions In Life!

  Live outside of the box!

                                         Color outside of the lines!

Live Loud!
                                         Dance in the rain!

 Live victoriously!

                                        Live a JOYful life!

Living a Healthy Life Style Requires Planning
I have met a lot of people who would like to make some positive changes in their lives regarding health habits.

However, they do not carry out their goals to make these changes because they do not plan accordingly.

In order to eat healthy, you need to shop for healthy foods ahead of time and prepare them and/ or have them ready to grab and go.

It is helpful to always have a healthy snack with you so that you do not grab unhealthy, fast food when you are out.

Also, plan ahead for exercise however you can fit that in your schedule. Take gym shoes with you. Keep them in your car. Plan to walk outside at work while you are on your lunch break for an example.

Drink more water and plan for this by taking a large water bottle with you when you leave the house and so on.

Plan and preparing makes for more health goal success!

Rasing a Child or Teen? The Best Thing That You Can Do For Them!
When you listen closely to your child or teen to THEIR ARGUMENT- And you fully explain your reasoning for your rule(s), it helps them to have higher self-esteem!

Also, children and teens who have more rules and boundaries to follow have higher self- esteem. This also helps them to feel more secure.

We all want to be heard when we talk.

Teens especially want to be heard when they talk.

Children and Teens want and need to be heard from their parents or caregivers.

I counsel teens everyday and many of them tell me that their parents do not listen to them when they speak about how they are feeling.

If you are raising a child or a teen and you want to connect with them better- take the time to listen attentively when they speak to you.

Close your computer.

Put away your phone.

Stop watching T.V.

Communication is mostly non-verbal. Show your child or teen that you are engaged in their conversation with you by sitting toward them and looking at them when they speak.

Stop being concerned about what you want to say back to them and instead, repeat back to your teen what you heard them saying to you...(in a loving tone such as: I hear you saying that....) Then, show empathy, such as saying that you can see why and how they must be frustrated.

Then- ask them how you can help.

Then- you can say more but even then- chose your words carefully....and use "I" statements such as: "I get concerned some times for your safety when you do not text me back".

Do not force or push them to talk. Just let them know that they can come to you and then make yourself available when they do.

Love them.

Listen to them

Be the kind of person that you would like them to be.

Hug them.
