Create a Vision Board- Enhance Your Motivation For Your Dreams & Goals
An oldie post but goodie because it is an awesome idea!

A vision board is pictures and words of what you would like to pursue/ become in life! Some people call it a dream board.

The concept is that if you surround yourself with the images of what you want in life that you will be more inclined to make the needed changes to match your desires of the images.

It is another way of setting goals for yourself. The images work in the same as in journaling your goals in that they help you to enhance your mental vision of your aspirations.

Our minds think in images. The images on your vision board can help you to keep your goals and dreams in the forefront out your mind of what you would like to strive for.

Cut out pictures in old magazine and search specific pictures on the internet and down load them to make a print.

Place your vision board where you can see it daily to help inspire you!

"Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ."
Philippians 1:6

Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)- How it Works
Cognitive Theory (CT) was created by Aaron Beck and is centered on the idea that an individual is basically formed by learning as well as being influenced by their surroundings.

A person's current behaviors, their treatment goals, and then how to go about altering one’s actions is examined using CT.
A goal is to learn to minimize maladaptive behaviors and then to exchange theses behaviors with productive and positive thoughts and actions (Corey and Corey, 2011).
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which is the “ABC Model”, is looked at as being a method that looks like the following:

I think, so I feel, and then so I do.

The ABC stands for:
(A). Activating Event, which is an occurrence as well
as the clients’ perceptions of that situation,

(B). Beliefs about the situation, which is an assessment on if the client is responding rationally or irrationally, and

(C). Consequences, which is how the clients’ react and then what they actually do with their beliefs regarding their behaviors (Guiffrida, 2005).

Anxiety- Help & Hope
Feeling panic, nervousness, uneasy, overly and uncontrollably stressed, heart palpitations……
These are some symptoms of anxiety.

When we feel anxiety, it is a way that our body is telling us that something is just not right.

It can be a warning signal to us that danger could be near in a situation.

However, some people experience anxiety in a severe and frequent manner in which is termed Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD).

There does not need to be a situation that warrants danger for someone to feel anxiety.

GAD is when an individual worries excessively in a chronic manner. Some symptoms of GAD are sleep disturbances, restlessness, fatigue, becoming irritable easily, having a difficult concentrating, and muscle tension.

When we repress our hurt emotions, they come out in other ways.

Coping skills that are helpful are:
Positive self-talk
Reading Biblical scripture and positive quotes
Talking to a trusted friend
Getting plenty of fresh air and exercise
Prayer
Going to a ‘safe’ or “happy’ place in my mind …such as the beach
Drinking plenty of water throughout the day
Eating a lot of fresh of fruits and vegetables
Taking slow deep breaths

Remember that talking to someone when you are hurting and /or experiencing fears can be very helpful along with implementing positive coping skills.

There is help for anxiety and you can feel better!

The Key To Communication

Use "I" statements when communicating.

When someone else talks to you, reflect back what you heard them say to you first.

Let me know that you hear what they are saying and that you understand.

Use body language that shows others that you are listening as well.
