Little Steps of Progress All Adds Up!
It is easy to get overwhelmed with all of the things that we want to work on in our lives.

It is extremely overwhelming if we have issues to work through to heal from something. There just doesn't seem to be the mental energy sometimes to tackle it all.

It can be helpful to celebrate small victories as you work toward big changes. After all, tiny bits of progress will add up to BIG RESULTS!

So- keep on working toward positive progress of healing and / or changing habits. Little steps of progress will all add up!

Utilize Exercise To Help Reduce Depression

When you exercise, your body releases chemicals called endorphins.

Endorphins  trigger a positive feeling in the body.

An example is the feeling that follows a run or workout is often described as "euphoric." That feeling, known as a "runner's high," can be accompanied by a positive and energizing outlook on life.

Regular exercise has been proven to:

Give Yourself Grace and Do The Best That You Can
Give Yourself Grace and Do The Best That You Can

We are often hard on ourselves when we are not where we want to be in our lives.

While it is good to strive to do better in our lives, we also need to forgive ourselves and give ourselves grace when we stumble.

Part of self-love and self-respect is to give ourselves permission to be less than the best at times.

Try to do the best that you can and then give yourself grace for what is not perfect or your best and try again when you can.

Don't Make Permanant Decisions Based on Temporary Emotions
Don't Make Permanent Decisions Based on Temporary Emotions

When we become emotionally upset, we are more vulnerable. During this state of mind, we are more apt to make decisions that we might not other wise make.

An example is....... taking back someone that you broke up with because they mistreated you- but you are crying and missing their company.

If you wait even 48 hours and allow your emotions settle, you may be able to look at situations more clearly and choose what is best and healthiest for you.

My Healthy and Delicious Brunch! Learn The Value of These Superfoods!
My Healthy and Delicious Brunch!

Quinoa is one of my main foods that I eat because it is a complete protein.

I add walnuts for more protein, omega -3 healthy fats, amino acid l-arginine which provides vascular benefits and antioxidants for overall optimum health.

I lightly roasted cut up zucchini which are high in antioxidants and vitamins B and C, has anti- flammatory benefits, has potassium and can be helpful to control diabetes.

Once my zucchini was finished roasting, I threw in some fresh organic kale for some added flavor and nutrients.
Kale has needed fiber, folate (folacin, folic acid, vitamin B family) and magnesium, vitamins A, C and K.

It is interesting that cooked kale offers more iron than beef!

Plan to spend time with people who are literally good for your mental health and overall welling being!

You cannot pour from an empty cup.

You need to fill your tank up before you can give.

It is so very important to take the time to spend quality time with people who inspire you, support you, and love you....at least like you or admire you. It is part of self- care!

Foods That Promote Better Sleep

While you can get better sleep by avoiding certain foods before bed, there are also some foods that promote better sleep.

Foods high in tryptophan help produce the sleep hormone, melatonin.  Good food sources of tryptophan are turkey and chicken.  Also try, lentils, tuna, whole grains, and nuts.

Tart cherries, cherry juice, and oats are high in melatonin.

Bananas, potatoes, apricots, and milk are high in magnesium and potassium.  These help to relax muscles.

Smaller, regular meals through the day also help promote better sleep.
